Love the Infant Room at CDA Little Canada
“As first-time parents, my husband and I were very nervous about what childcare setting our son would go to and who he would be spending time with all day. I also worked with childcare licensing and looked up every childcare in our area and ruled SO MANY out based on violations that terrified me on the DHS website. I was very particular on what I was looking for in a childcare, and CDA fit the bill!
Reasons why we ultimately chose CDA: CDA has a great licensing record, is 4 Star Parent Aware Rated, and accredited by NAEYC. There is low-turnover in staff, food is provided, there is a separate crib area for light sleepers in the infant room, indoor and outdoor large motor dedicated spaces that are seemingly well-kept, and it wasn’t a large chain but still had administrative staff to help with continuity of services. It wasn’t the cheapest option, but also not the most expensive on our list!
I still sobbed the first week of taking our son in when I had to return to work and was super nervous that even with touring the place and researching, it might not be the right fit. However, as we are closing in on 10 months of him being in the infant room at Little Canada, we are VERY happy with the care he receives. The teachers communicate readily, take any feedback we have or concerns we bring up, and send pictures almost every day via the app. The teachers in his room have stayed very consistent (which is a rarity these days in center-based care), and they clearly adore him (he adores them, too). He is always happily reaching for his favorite teachers at drop off and I have no concerns about the thoughtfulness of care they provide. I’m a bit sad that he will need to move up to a toddler room soon because we love the infant team so much, but I have high hopes that his new teaching team will be as good as Kristi, Honesty, Mariah, Jordan, Hser, and all the other teachers that have made our son feel so cared for since he was just 5 months. Kristi has given us advice on how best to get him ready for the new room and is taking steps now to make sure his transition is smooth as possible. I’m so grateful to have the infant room as part of our village to care for our son! –Feb 2025”
